The Edge Sculpture Dragon Egg Illumination (Red) is a new addition to the Edge Sculpture range for Autumn 2023. This new sculpture is a first for Edge with an LED light provided to light up your dragon egg to show its colours off to their best advantage. It will also make a softly illuminated lamp to add a touch of drama to any area of your home. Casting a mystical glow, the dragon emerges, alive in six enchanting shades.

Each Dragon comes with a certificate that depicts the nature of your chosen dragon and its preferred habitat. The Red Dragon is depicted as follows:

About this new sculpture

The mythical dragon emerging from its egg is a moment of awe and wonder. Legends speak of dragon eggs as precious orbs, often hidden in remote, mystical locations. When the time is right, the egg cracks open, and a majestic dragon emerges.

In mythology, dragons are often portrayed as powerful and wise creatures, guardians of ancient treasures or symbols of strength and protection.

Depictions of the mythical dragon hatching from its precious egg in art and literature have fascinated people for centuries, capturing the imagination with the idea that something extraordinary and magical can hatch from the ordinary. Whether as a symbol of chaos or a force of good, the dragon’s birth from its egg remains a captivating and enduring motif in storytelling and artistic expression.

How this sculpture is made

The original piece is moulded and given life from clay that is then expertly encapsulated in rubber to produce the parent mould.

Each piece is sculpted in clay, which allows the creation of pieces that deliver both a dynamic and organic feel.  The team at Edge then developed both the cases and moulds which ensure the faithful reproduction of the original clay sculpture in a special blend of marble stone castings.

The finishing touch is the skilful application of hand-painting with the end result being a statement piece and talking point for anyone’s home or business!
