The Bear Cub Edge Sculpture launch was announced back in September where we wrote about  Matt Buckly launching four new sculptures in time for Christmas, one of them being the super cute bear cub. We are very happy to announce that we have had a delivery of Bear Cub Edge Sculptures.

They are available to buy from our website by clicking the image below or you can now from today visit our store where you can take a look at our full Edge Sculpture range.

The Bear Cub figure is one of the smaller Edge Sculptures in the range and will look beautiful displayed on its own atop a cabinet or table and will also look impressive as part of a collection of the smaller wildlife seated sculptures. The other Edge characters the Bear Cub will ‘sit’ well with are the Baby Orangutan, the Elephant Calf, the Baby Gorilla and the Tiger Cub.

This beautiful Bear Cub Figure has been designed to be an accurate representation of a brown bear cub capturing its life, energy and charisma. The bear cub is renowned for its playful and fun nature, usually with its sibling, (bears usually have two cubs). This bear cub figure captures the fun side of the Bear Cub perfectly.

How The Bear Cub Figure is made

Each piece no matter how large or small is expertly designed and crafted by Matt Buckley from his Shropshire studio.

An original bear cub piece is moulded from clay, it is then expertly encapsulated in rubber to produce the parent mould.

It is then cast from a durable composite granite which is vacuum sealed with a bleed as to remove compromising air bubbles from the structure. The curative period is then initiated and sustained until the structure is appropriately hardened.

The sculpture is then meticulously examined and fettled as to outline the depth of detail and heighten the sculptures natural form. For finishing it is then passionately coloured, shaded and detailed by our expert artists; completing the creation of a masterpiece as seen in the photos shown above.
