Designed and craftsman made in England by the very talented Sculptor Matt Buckley, they are thoughtfully sculpted with an emphasis on aesthetic design moulded with the mind’s eye. Each piece has a unique feel with a dramatic mix of form, colour, light and texture.
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Bust Edge Sculpture Blue is one of the latest additions to the Edge Sculpture range. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Staffy as it is lovingly referred to by fans of the breed makes a wonderful companion and is well known for its courage, intelligence, and love of children. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a British breed that originated in the city of Birmingham and in the Black Country of Staffordshire. It is directly descended from the Bull Dog and Terrier which was itself bred from cross-breeding the Old English Bulldog and the Old English Terrier from which it gets its character, strength and intelligence.
Staffys are bred in many colours and this one featured here is ‘Blue’. The origins of the ‘Blue’ coat of the Staffy are somewhat unclear and date back many years to the Staffys predecessors. The quality of the blue Stafford has much improved in the past few years by carefully selecting the quality parents. Blue is a colour in the Staffordshire breed and is a popular choice as it is a stunningly good looking dog.
Staffordshire Bull Terriers, with careful training, make wonderful dogs and loving family pets, they are known for being intelligent, affectionate and playful.
This impressive Staffordshire Bull Terrier Edge Sculpture Patch captures the intelligence of the Staffy with a twinkle in its eye for playfulness. At 270mm wide, 225mm deep and 285mm high this sculpture is bold enough to make a statement on its own on a sideboard or display cabinet but not so large to also look great grouped with other sculptures of your choice. This wonderful sculpture will be a treasured possession in any Staffy lovers home.
How The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Edge Sculptures are made
The original piece is moulded and given life from clay that is then expertly encapsulated in rubber to produce the parent mould.
The pieces are then cast from a durable composite granite and are vacuum sealed with a bleed as to remove compromising air bubbles from the structure. The curative period is then initiated and sustained until the structure is aptly hardened.
The piece is then meticulously examined and fettled as to outline the depth of detail and heighten the sculptures natural form. For finishing it is then passionately coloured, shaded and detailed by our expert artists; completing the creation of a masterpiece.
