About Edge Sculptures

Edge Sculptures are recognised as the antiques and collectables of the future. They are designed and craftsman made in England by talented Sculptor Matt Buckley. They are thoughtfully sculpted with an emphasis on aesthetic design moulded with the mind’s eye. Matt gives each piece a unique feel with a dramatic mix of form, colour, light and texture to represent the character and spirit of the subject matter.

How Edge Sculptures are made

Edge Sculptures are all craftsman made at Matt Buckleys studios in Shropshire.

The original piece is moulded and given life using clay that is then expertly encapsulated in rubber to produce the parent mould.

The pieces are then cast from a durable composite granite and are vacuum sealed with a bleed as to remove compromising air bubbles from the structure. The curative period is then initiated and sustained until the structure is aptly hardened.

The piece is then meticulously examined and fettled as to outline the depth of detail and heighten the sculptures natural form. For finishing, they are then passionately coloured, shaded and detailed by expert artists to complete the creation of a masterpiece.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Bust

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Staffy remains one of the UK’s most popular breeds of dog.  The Staffy makes a wonderful companion and is well known for its courage, intelligence, and love of children.

They originate in the city of Birmingham and in the Black Country of Staffordshire.  The Staffy is directly descended from the Bull Dog and Terrier which was itself bred from cross-breeding the Old English Bulldog and the Old English Terrier from which it gets its strength and intelligence.

Staffies are bred in many colours including the glossy Red Staffy. A red staffy is a popular choice due to its glossy coat and good looks.  Other colours in the Edge Sculpture Staffy range are Black, Brindle, Blue and Patch.

The French Bulldog Sculpture has been a result of numerous requests by lovers of this breed.  French Bulldogs are playful, smart and adaptable making them such great pets. They have large Bat Ears’ (a term used as a nickname for the breed) giving them a clownish and adorable appearance.

The nature of these dogs has been perfectly captured in four colours, Fawn, Brindle, Pied and Blue. Shown here is the Blue Frenchie which isn’t a Kennel Club recognised standard colour for the breed but is nevertheless very popular. Each of the French Bulldog Edge Sculptures has a stunning metallic hue on the reverse of the sculpture making it look good from any angle.
